SKINPULSE
PDT or dynamic phototherapy

Dynamic phototherapy
(abbreviated English name Photodynamic Therapy PDT)

Method which consists of the application on the skin of a substance containing a reactive agent in the light which will photo-sensibiliser some structures in the skin. The activation of this area by light will cause of subtle biochemical reactions within the treated skin, which will lead to beneficial biological effects:
– either the destruction of tumor cells
– either the stimulation of collagen and new elastic fibres.

Can what injuries be treated with PDT?

Currently, we mainly treat some skin (actinic keratoses) La especially when they are rebels, extended, or many. We also treat skin cancers in the family of carcinomas, in mainly superficial form.

This method is ideal if a significant number of lesions or when the scope of a single injury makes it another treatment (surgery or radiotherapy) too heavy to bear or potentially harmful for the patient.

In practice

Treatment happens in one or two sessions, or even more, depending on the type and size of lesions.

The meeting takes place in two stages:
• Preparation of curettage or excision with or without local anaesthetic beforehand. Product application as that left acting for a variable time (30 minutes to 4 hours).
• Application of laser light or LED on the prepared area. The treated area will be covered by a bandage for about 48 hours.

Note:
During these two days post treatment, the area that has received the application of the photo-sensibilisante substance is very reactive in the light of the day.

Not provide any outdoor activityduring those two dayspost-processing.
Limit his movements outside.
Do practice no solar exposure or UV in the cabin.
